  • Preparation: Learning skills for the Guide section.
  • Holistic Growth: Enhancing physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual development.
  • Citizenship: Promoting respect and cooperation.

Selection Process

The process ensures girls embrace Bulbul values:

  1. Eligibility: Indian girls aged 5–10 register as Aspirants.
  2. Pravesh Phase: 3 months under a Flock Leader, fulfilling:
    • Narrating Tara’s Jungle Book story.
    • Understanding the Promise, Law, Motto, and Greetings.
    • Performing the Bulbul Salute and left handshake.
    • Daily prayers and good turns.
    • Singing the Bulbul Prayer Song.
  3. Investiture: Making the Promise and receiving the Membership Badge.
  4. Recommendation: Flock Leader approval, badge issued by Local/District Association.

Qualifications

Bulbuls must meet:

  • Age: 5–10 years.
  • Citizenship: Indian citizen.
  • Principles: Adhere to Bulbul Law, Motto, and Promise.
  • Pravesh: Complete 3-month requirements.
  • Advancement: Progress through Komal Pankh, Rajata Pankh, Swarna Pankh, Heerak Pankh, and Golden Arrow.

Activities

Activities, inspired by Jungle Book, include:

  • Storytelling: Tara’s story and role-playing.
  • Team Tasks: Painting, songs, knot-tying, first aid, games.
  • Good Turns: Daily acts of kindness.
  • Badges: Earning proficiency badges (e.g., Cyclist, World Conservation).
  • Camps: Trekking, camping, jamborees.
  • Ceremonies: Flag ceremonies, Thinking Day events.
  • Spiritual Growth: Daily prayers, values like honesty.
  • Community Service: Sanitation drives, tree planting.

Highest Achievement: Golden Arrow

The Golden Arrow Badge, the highest honor, is awarded to a Heerak Pankh Bulbul earning six proficiency badges before age 10. Presented by the BSG President, it symbolizes excellence.
