Lesson: This World of Things
We see many things around us every day – table, chair, window, bottle, bag etc.
Have you ever thought:
What are they made of?
Things around us are made of materials like wood, metal, glass, plastic, cloth and clay.
Many materials come from nature like wood from trees, metals from rocks and sand for glass.
Things found in nature are called natural (tree, water, air).
Things made by humans are called artificial (table, chair, clothes).
See-Through Materials
Transparent materials allow us to see clearly. Example: Glass.
Translucent materials allow partial light. Example: Butter paper, thin cloth.
Opaque materials do not allow us to see through. Example: Wood, wall.
